Major stakeholders in Ogun West Senatorial District have lent their weight behind the candidacy of Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, a frontline aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun gubernatorial race as his consultative train hits the axis on Tuesday.

Otunba Ashiru, whose political profile has been on the rise was former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry and the consensus candidate for governorship in Ogun East.

Traversing the Ogun West geopolitical zone from Sango, Ota to Ilaro, thousands of party supporters trooped out in large number, chief among which were youths and political leaders to welcome Otunba Ashiru who they believe holds the key to socioeconomic renewal of the area going by his pedigree while in government.

According to them, Otunba Ashiru stands out as the only aspirant who has all it takes to govern the State and consolidate on the good works of successive governments most especially in reawakening the economic resources which Ogun West is blessed with.

The youths, who were visibly excited by the presence of Otunba Ashiru in their midst lauded his empowerment programmes as spelt out in his manifesto which, they said, will translate to mass employment and unprecedented economic fortunes if he becomes the governor.

Political leaders who spoke in turns also expressed their confidence in the aspiration of Otunba Ashiru as a man of experience imbued with exemplary leadership qualities which Ogun State needs to excel in all areas of development.

In his remarks, Otunba Ashiru thanked the people of Ogun West for the rousing welcome and unbiased loyalty which they exhibited at all meeting venues.

He then assured the people of Ogun West of greater things to come if he is given the mandate both in the forthcoming party primary and general election.

Otunba Ashiru also appealed to his teeming supporters to be calm and focussed as the party goes into direct primary devoid of any form of violence and unwarranted acrimony. The Ogun APC, he stressed, is one big, united family and members must work assiduously to ensure victory at all levels of election.
