Legend, Victor Uwaifo is dead.

The ever-green musician passed on after a brief illness.

He was 80years of age at the time of death.

The maker of several hits honored with the national honor of Order of the Niger was the first Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Tourism.

A well-traveled musician, Uwaifo was a master of different aspects of his craft such as playing the Electric guitar, flute, saxophone, electric piano and percussion.

His recognition for excellence in his chosen field dates as far back as the 1965 song Joromi which won him the first gold disc in Africa.

Uwaifo got a B.A. Honors (first-class valedictorian), Masters degree, and Ph.D. in Architectural Sculpture, University of Benin (UNIBEN).
