Baba Ijesha who was arrested on April 19, 2021, based on a complaint by colleague Adekola Adekanye (Princess) is currently on bail and undergoing prosecuting for multiple charges of rape against a minor at a Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja.
There have been claims on the sides of both Baba Ijesha and Princess that Governor Sanwo-Olu is in their corner.
The claims by “these people” started when the issue of granting Baba Ijesha came up.
“I remember the Governor asked who is this Baba Ijesha that they are linking me to” a source stated.

“People were just throwing his name in needless social media fight popularity. You need to understand how the Governor thinks and his approach to things. It was a police case and now a judicial matter. That was his stand then and that remains his stand as things unfold” societynow.ng learned.
The Lagos State Government on May 4, 2021 in officially reacting to the accusations against the actor had insisted that he would have his day in court for the determination of either his innocence or guilt.
Baba Ijesha, 48, is accused of assaulting a 14years old girl.
His arrest and ongoing trial have pitched many people, particularly in the movie industry against one another with some pushing for justice and others clamoring for mercy.
