The Governor of Kwara State Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman has ordered his aides not to maintain sealed lips over the demolition of Ile Arugbo, the charity home established by Oloye Olusola Saraki – the father of former Senate President Bukola Saraki in Ilorin, Kwara state.

The administration of Governor Abdulrasaq demolished Ile Arugbo ( old people’s home)in the early hours of Thursday, January 2, 2020, citing ”illegality” in the acquisition of the land in which it was built on by Saraki’s father.

The development which reportedly transpired after the aged persons that kept vigil at the property to prevent the demolition were allegedly harassed and assaulted has attracted all shades of reactions.

The most damning reaction came from Minister Gbemi Saraki labeled the development a huge disrespect on her person and slammed the governor for practicing the politics of revenge and vendetta for demolishing her father’s legacy without any form of notice or consultation with her as a senior member of the ruling party in Kwara state.

While Gbemi Saraki is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, her brother Bukola Saraki is chieftain the rival political party, People’s Democratic Party and is believed to be the target in the demolition of Ile Arugbo which serves as one of the major political status enhancers the former senate president inherited from his father.

Bukola Saraki is a deep-seethed political enemy of governor abdulrasaq.
