Iyabo Obasanjo Won’t Return To Politics As PDP Chieftain – Insiders Reveal Party

The popular politician said to be planning a return to politics, Iyabo Obasanjo won’t make the move on the platform of the political party that gave her reckoning, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) according to insiders.

The daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo is being linked to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as part of efforts to get another term in the Senate.

She served as a commissioner in the PDP government of former of Ogun state Gbenga Daniel and later a Senator in Ogun Central on the bill of the same party.

Daniel is currently the Senator representing Ogun East on the platform of the APC.

He is fingered as one of the two powerful politicians backing the return of Iyabo Obasanjo to politics in Ogun state.

Obasanjo despite extensive touching life gestures that earned the famous slogan “Kosi omo bi Iyabo” (No child – in this case, person – like Iyabo) was denied a second term ticket to the Senate in a manner that made her leave politics.

She represented Ogun Central in the Senate from June 52007 to June 6, 2011.

Her planned return is described as the alignment of political interests in determining who controls the government and politics of Ogun state after the 2027 general election
