Those close to former Minister Rauf Aregbesola have disclosed what usually calms him.

“It is music, laced with profound indigenous sayings,” according to those in the know.

“But his major preference is that of Saheed Osupa,” a source stated.

The former two-term Governor of Osun State is said to label Osupa “his personal musician.”

The fuji musician, also known as “Saridon Papa,” is one of the reigning kings of fuji music.

An alumnus of the American International College, where he studied Networking Operations—after earning a National Diploma in Business Administration at The Polytechnic, Ibadan—Osupa has over 40 studio albums to his name since he went professional in 1983.

The 55-year-old, whose real name is Akorede Babatunde Okunola, is widely acknowledged as a standout for retaining the rich and poetic indigenous wisdom approach of fuji music creator Ayinde Barrister (Sikiru Ololade Ayinde Balogun) in his delivery.

Aregbesola, who is making waves in the political circles of Osun State on the wings of the Omoluabi Progressives, is said to favor listening to the songs of Saheed Osupa all year round.
