Insiders within the ‘’kitchen cabinet’’ of Oba Gbolahan Lawal, the new Oniru of Iruland, Lagos State have revealed the things that are important to him.

According to information available to societynow.ng uppermost on the list of important things to the new Oniru is the empowerment of the youths and children.

According to those in the know, the youth and children form Seventy (70%) percent of the population of Iruland and empowering them will have far-reaching cascading effects that are expected to capture the remaining Thirty (30 %) percent and spiral into ensuring the security of food and shelter transform into prosperity and peace across the land.

Societynow.ng learned that Oba Abisogun 11 has taken a huge step to see this dream come to life with the birth of the HRM Abisogun 11 Foundation (HRMA11F) which handles all the things relating to this via an Empowerment Hub.

The Foundation with Folorunsho Olaniyan one of the Trustees as the chief administrator has already empowered Thirty Two (32) women in Iruland in and tracking their progress in an investment growth partnership of a sort.

The ‘’HRMA11F’’ on July 26, 2020, reportedly empowered the 32 women with ‘’training’ and a seed fund of Fifty Thousand Naira ( N50,000) each as the first batch of sets of beneficiaries that are expected to be about 2000 by the end of the next year – 2021.

‘’The target is to help the first batch grow their seed fund to Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250,000) by the end of this year (2020) and transform those who have shown promises to the distributor of fast-moving consumables which is the next level of the growth plan’’ societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng gathered that the ”invest and reinvest” growth plan, with proper guidance, is expected to have multiplier results of making the women their husbands’ partners-in- progress at the home fronts.

‘’When women are empowered there is usually peace at the home front because it takes away the financial stress that results in impulsive actions that result in violence because there is the security of food and shelter, the children’s needs are met and there is peace for the husband to focus on other things. The increased revenue spreads prosperity because other businesses are patronized in the course of meeting daily needs. The growth plan also captures spiritual development because there is more money for tithes and offerings for faith to flourish’’

Societynow.ng gathered that although the non-profit making HRM Abisogun11Foundation has initiated this aspect of the things that are important to the new king, it still desires ‘’support’’ to see it through.

‘’Corporate sponsors are being talked to for support with funds and resources to make it more robust and hopefully take it beyond set targets’’ Societynow.ng learned.

The added information available revealed that another of the things that are important to the new King of Oniru land is waste, especially plastic which makes a larger percentage of the waste and how it is troubling aquatic life in the coastal area.

‘’A waste recycling initiative has been launched for all the plastic waste to be mop-up and taken to where it is needed for recycling. A partnership arrangement to get this done has been concluded’’ Societynow.ng learned.

The new Oniru is also said to be concerned about erosion and its effect on the topography of Iruland.

Insiders disclosed that a careful study of the situation has revealed that ‘’corruption of the layout’’ is the root cause of the anomaly.

‘’The physical planning is been looked into to ensure the gradings are adhered to. Challenges have to be dealt with for free-flowing waterways to be put in place, you find out that in some case setbacks have been used as fences’’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng learned this plan also factors in the provision of drinkable water- which is a major problem in the area.

‘’There is a plan for a better-managed environment where there is room for promotion of culture and protection of history with the museum’’ a source offered.

Societynow.ng gathered that the Oniru is also keen on resolving issues of validation of properties without undue loss of investments.

‘’Notices are put on some properties as part of efforts to handle usurpers, those who have acquired title property properly and legitimately have nothing to fear…nothing to worry about in that regard’’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng also gathered that Oba Lawal has also taken steps to turn around the fortunes of the famous haven of lovers of seaside fun, Oniru Beach.

‘’The beachfront is a prime area. One of the steps to turn it around is the cleanup exercise for Thursday (Today, September 10, 2020), partners interested in transforming it into a place suitable for family leisure, general fun, and with facilities for sleepovers are being talked to and this is outside of dedicated Green Zones, parks to be built within Iruland for residents’ relaxation receiving serious attention by HRM’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that there was an arrangement with a handler to transform the Beachfront before the new Oniru ascended the throne but ‘’nothing was done’’.

The information at hand revealed that Oba Lawal has a huge plan to catch in on a Technology Hub in his transformation plan for Iruland.

‘’The plan is to put up a Technology hub that will boast of the best of facilities for the use of residents at little or no cost. This is a form of empowerment in modern technology. It is beyond the concept stage, partners are being spoken to about this’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders agree that the most important thing to, and overall plan of the Oba Gbolahan Lawal, who had his coronation on Sunday, September 6, 2020, is ‘’ to make Iruland a model of where to live and where to do business’’

Oba Gbolahan is said to have plans for Oniru to leverage on other areas including agriculture in achieving his dream of a ‘’ model place to live and do business for residents’’

Note: Akeem Akintoye, the Private Secretary to HRM Gbolahan Lawal, the Trustee and administrator of the HRMA11F – Folusho Olanitan, and Media Consultant Victor Ganzallo provided information in the report at an interactive session.
