The actor who came to public consciousness with the stage name ‘’Adimeru’’ is battling with individual and industry challenges.
Societynowng.com learnt the fangs of the troubles that latched onto his world with the death of Monsurat, his wife and famous actress widely known as Moladun Kenkelewu are yet to be untangled.

‘’the fight with some of the in laws and their sympathisers are yet to be over’’ a source disclosed.

Moladun died on Tuesday September 1 2009 at the couple’s Ikorodu home.

The demise of the popular actress had thrown up dusts that pitched hubby and actor Babasuwe on opposing sides with his in law.

The controversy that decorated the development considerable diminished the actor’s popularity- and fans base.

‘’Prior to the demise of Moladun, the husband and wife were power couple in the movie industry..especially the Yoruba genre’’ a source pointed out.

Societynowng.com learnt the death of Moladun rather than buoy Babasuwe’s popularity with fans sympathy, instead dimmed it and fractured the existing fans base as a result of fingers pointed by in laws.

Added digs revealed the loss of appeal seeped into the movie industry as practitioners took sides in the affair and those passionate about the late Moladun spread talks that took patronage way from the embattled actor.

Findings revealed that the actor was still batting with this industry and personal travails when he was nabbed for alleged drug trafficking by anti drug law agency, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency barely two years down the line.

He arrested on October 12 2011 about to board an Air France Flight to Paris, France.

The scanning machine reportedly revealed he had ingested substances suspected to be cocaine – and detained him for 9days utilising different tactics to make him excrete the suspicious intake.

The actor didn’t and went on to sue the agency with the aid of decease lawyer and activists, Bamidele Aturu.

Societynowng.com gathered the already grave situation was further aggravated by decision to stay off limited work that came his way as part of ploy to win his case against the NDLEA.

‘’his case against the NDLEA rests hugely on claims his arrest and detention by agency seriously damaged his reputation in and out of the movie to point of inability to secure employment…so he couldn’t work, produce or feature in any production so as not to spoil his own case’’ a source explained.

Digs revealed his absence further provided room for existing and emerging talents to flourish.

By the time lawyer and power behind his case, Bamidele Aturu died on July 9 2014 after suddenly taking ill, Babasuwe’s career was in limbo and the troubled actor greatly relied on getting a disputed N25million compensation against the agency to make up for his ‘’sacrifice’’.

Information available revealed with the death of his lawyer, the troubled actor abandoned the case against NDLEA and attempts to get the contentious N25m awarded by the court for infringing o his rights.

He reportedly quietly initiated attempts at reviving his ailing.

‘’That has being the focus of his world for the past two years..how to stage the perfect comeback’’ a source stated.

Societynowng.com however learnt bogged down by luggage of his past and faced with the takeover his sphere of influence in the movie world by a new breed of entertainer, his comeback bid is proving a tough nut to crack.

‘’Currently multi talented actors such as Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo and others have the industry in a vice grip..they are young, handsome and richer in wit.
‘’They represent the new age, older actors such as Babsuwe merely complement their interpretations in movies..So a comeback with a bang as infer will take quite some doing to achieve’’ a source provided insight.

Societynowng.com learnt though he is struggling to make a return, the status of off the shelves popular actor has started taking a toll on the economy of the role interpreter.

‘’things are unusual for him and he is trying to keep it as quiet as possible to avoid perceived enemies in and out of the industry making a mockery of his situation’’ a source stated.

Societynowng.com gathered this is one of the reasons he was quick to knock off attempts by self styled movie industry rights agitator Yomi Fabiyi to thrust him back to public consciousness on the plane of in need of alms.

‘’He was really infuriated by the action of Fabiyi but didn’t want to prolong public interest that would keep him in the limelight and glare his private and public turbulence for the world to feast’’ a source divulged.

Though allegations of deteriorating health to the point of inability to walk remains contentious – sources who claimed to have sighted the embattled actor recently claimed his gait that of normal self, insiders insist Babasuwe is battling private and industry challenges that make him thirst more than anything for improved finances.
