Information available to societynowng.com have it that but for quick thinking, the famous midnight confrontation between Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike and security operatives would have turned a bigger mess than witnessed.

The Chief Executive Officer of Rivers state had stormed the venue of a sting operation by the Department of State Services and prevented the arrest of a serving judge on allegations of corruption.

The place of incident was the Force Avenue, Port Harcourt residence of the judge at the centre of the storm.

The about to be arrested Justice Uche Agumuo had reportedly refused to open doors to DSS operatives when they came calling at about midnight.

The Federal High Court Judge had instead sent a save a soul message to Governor Wike that she was under siege.

The Rivers state head man had rushed down to the scene of incident with members of his cabinet as well as state legislators.

Digs revealed this remained the situation of things until about 4.00am when the media and other interested individuals and bystanders trooped.

The DSS reportedly left during this period as Governor Wike seized the opportunity to transform an undercover move into a public spectacle laced with a litany of allegations.

The Rivers state Police Commissioner reportedly ordered a detachment of police men to stay at the scene after the ”exit” of the two parties.

Informants claim the police team remains in place at press time.
