Olamilekan Adegbite, the candidate of the immediate past governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun has been announced as a ministerial nominee.

Adegbite served as a two-term commissioner in the government of Amosun. And the son of late Egba senior chief and member of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Lateef Adegbite.

He is branded a passionate supporter of former governor Amosun.

Amosun warded off fierce and joint interests from incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun and the ruling All Progressives Congress leader in Ogun State, Segun Osoba to ensure Adegbite made the list.

Interestingly, Amosun was suspended for alleged anti-party activities by the APC ahead of the general election that got President Muhammadu Buhari re-elected.

The former governor of Ogun state went all out to ensure Dapo Abiodun, the candidate of own party lose to Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied People’s Movement – but failed.

Abiodun who was famously backed in the contest by the might of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, National Chairman Adams Oshiomole, National leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and leader of the party in the state Aremo Osoba won the election.

‘’But these backings could not stop Amosun from giving the governor a bloody nose in the release of the names of ministers for screening by the National Assembly’’ a source pointed out.

Societynow.ng gathered the inclusion of Adegbite’s name in the names of Ministerial nominees has given Amosun’s supporters in and out of the APC a boost of a sort as they brag of ‘’ more losses’’ to come the way of their opponents.

‘’This is against the background that Amosun is currently a Senator and having a loyal Minister in his camp will naturally boost his political fortunes in Ogun state’’ a source stated.
