The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo has refuted reports of “tackling” Sunday Adeyemo better known as Sunday Igboho over the agitation for Yoruba Nation.

The Kabiyesi in statement titled “Re: Alake of Egbaland tackles Sunday Igboho story over Oduduwa Republic as circulated through the social media did not happen.” explained that

The attention of HRH Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland Oba Adedokun Aremu Gbadebo Okukenu 1V the has been called to the unfounded and mischievous publication that during a courtesy meeting of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) to his Ake Palace in Abeokuta, that Kabiyesi tackled Sunday Igboho over Yoruba direction.

Kabiyesi will like to inform all his subjects that such matter was never discussed with RTEAN visitation and all Egba and Yoruba are required to disregard the mischievous publication as the work of the enemies of Egbaland and what our forefathers stood for since Lisabi AgboAkala liberated the Egba from Oyo Empire.

If and when Kabiyesi will discuss such a sensitive issue which is very important to the feelings of his people, definitely it will not be with Road transporters forum. Kabiyesi will consult with all other Egba Traditional Council, the Ogboni and all deities of the land as in the customary with Egba Tradition.

The Palace will appeal to all Egba in and out of Nigeria to remain focused, to know who they are and their history and disregard any publication from any busy body or new media capable of disrespecting His Royal Highness and Egba Institution with track record of civilization far and beyond Africa.
