How Remi Tinubu Lost Out In Bid To – Stretch Influence – Make Kunle Poly ‘’Eyes & Ears’’ In Lagos NURTW Exco

Remi Tinubu is rapidly spreading her influence in the scheme of things in Lagos.

The wife of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is listed as a major stakeholder in the new government in charge of Lagos state with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu heavily beholden to her.

But attempts to make a similar incursion into the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Union has been rebuffed.

The move which would have given the Senator representing Lagos Central great leverage on the street was ‘’shot down’’ before it could fly insiders disclosed.

Societynow.ng gathered Senator Tinubu tried to make Kunle Lawal, the transport unionist better known as Kunle Poly a member of the new executives in charge of the Lagos state arm of the NURTW.

Kunle Poly was fiercely against the emergence of the New NURTW chairman in Lagos state Musiliu Akinsanya also known as MC Oluomo.

Kunle Poly surrendered in the fight against MC Oluomo – who is a hardcore supporter of the Senator’s husband Asiwaju Tinubu – when he saw it was a futile attempt.

Sources disclosed that out of the blues, Remi Tinubu started pushing for Kunle Poly to be made a member of the new Executive.

Just like Sanwo-Olu the development would have made Kunle Poly beholden to Remi Tinubu and stretched her influence into the NURTW if it sailed through.

‘’But the move was rejected with passionate pleas to Asiwaju Tinubu by those believe it would deepen the conflict in the NURTW after the election and also threaten the support the Union provides to the Asiwaju Tinubu political family and ruling party’’ societynow.ng learned.

The NURTW provides street support for the national politician and his party, especially with the new Chairman – Oluomo – and his lieutenants identified as card-carrying members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC.
