Fuel Subsidy Removal Strike Update… Protesters Occupy Femi Otedola’s Home, Target Otudeko, Other Subsidy Beneficiaries!
The nation wide strike action against fuel subsidy removal is taking a new twist.
Protesters have started going after those believed to have benefited from the government facility.
The allegations that beneficiaries siphoned money into private pockets was one of the major reasons subsidy was removed.
The protesters are using public disclosure of the identity of the companies that enjoyed the facility by the Senate to execute the twist in protest.
Femi Otedola, front person of Zenon, AP & Forte Oil was the first to suffer the presence of the protesters.
His home was ‘occupied’ for hours.
Obafoluke Otudeko of Honeywell Oil and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu- believed to be the financial muscle behind OANDO (Ocean and Oil) suffered the same fate.
The protesters claim they will continue the occupation serially until the government return subsidy and return the pump price of petrol to N65 from the current N141.
Their are fears in certain quarters that the twist may result in violence and destruction of properties of the fuel subsidy beneficiaries if the action is prolonged.
Voilent conducts and loss of lives have been witnessed in ‘occupation’ in other parts of the country that are not that ‘personal’
