+ narrate the scheme to sieze his assets

Friends of troubled business man and capital Oil boss, Mr Ifeanyi Uba have come out to defend him.

They assert, his current travails are the machinations of concerted effort between friends Mr Aigboje Aig Imoukhuede, the Managing Director of Access bank and Dr Cosmas Maduka- the boss of Coscharis Group.

It is alleged that Mr Imoukhuede is using influence as the Chairman of the Presidential Probe Panel on Fuel Subsidy to ‘deal with’ the Oil man at the instance of Mr Maduka.

The Coscharis Motors helms man is alleged to be after Mr Uba over ‘a business disagreement’

The informants alleged prior to the Capital Oil Boss’ arrest and detention- Mr Maduka had threatened to ‘keep in detention for 14days’ in the course of their discord.

Mr Ifeanyi Uba later spent days in cell at Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police, Milverton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

He was arrested on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 when he honoured invitation to the place, and released on Friday, October 19, 2012.

His friends claimed Mr Maduka relied on pressure on police investigators by Mr Imoukhuede to arrest Uba while indicted marketers such as ‘Mr. Wale Tinubu of Oando and Alhaji Sayyu Dantata of MRS’ still walk free.

It is further alleged the Access Bank boss and Coscharis Group front person are doing this for mutual benefit.

‘The grand scheme is to strip him of his assets. As a matter of fact, we were told that the fate of Dr. Erastus Akingbola, the former MD of the defunct Intercontinental Bank awaits him.

‘They have their eyes on Ubah’s vast assets, especially his massive depot, which is the third largest in the country and will stop at nothing to have it ‘.

“Because let’s face facts, why is it only Ubah that was arrested? Where are the other top players in the industry also mentioned in the matter?’ the sources insisted.

On the Capital Oil boss’ culpability in the charges against him by the presidential probe panel on fuel subsidy, they advocated

‘The Federal Government of Nigeria contracted Ernst & Young, an international agency to conduct the verification exercise. They should allow the agency publish their findings instead of coming up with cooked up stories’

The friends striving to correct ‘perceived ills’ about the business man in the last couple of days enjoin nigerians not to be ‘fooled’ and ‘pray’ for Mr Uba against his ‘tormentors’.

Because ‘In spite of being only 41, he has touched a lot of lives. And all those whose lives he has touched with his generosity will continue to pray for him – whether the enemies like it or not’.

Spokes person for Mr Imoukhuede- Segun Fafore is yet to respond to enquiry on the matter at press time.
