Flood: Gov Diri Confirms Ex-President One Of Internally Displaced Persons In Bayelsa
Governor Duoye Diri has confirmed a former President of Nigeria is one of the internally displaced persons in the state.
The state is struggling to contain a flood crisis that has rendered many residents homeless.
Governor Diri while providing the latest update on the crisis confirmed that Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa has been submerged in flood.
Otuoke is the locality of former President Goodluck Jonathan who is from the state. Jonathan has a well known country home in the area which is said to be submerged in flood as well.
The Governor who spoke on Friday lamented the destruction caused by the flood while sympathizing with Former President Jonathan and others affected by the flood crisis.
He pleaded for help from persons and corporations to alleviate the losses of the victims.
