In a bid to promote local content and boost the nation’s economy, the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Jaji Abdulganiyu O, has reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to prioritizing the procurement and utilization of locally made products, while also taking human health and environmental safety into consideration.

Jaji made this declaration during a product presentation held at the Federal Fire Service National Headquarters, Garki, Abuja. The presentation was conducted by Peter Enamdi Ojiaka, Chairman of JK Peace Group, a Nigerian company focused on innovative fire safety solutions.

JK Peace Group presented a locally manufactured, chlorine-free foam compound that is environmentally safe and non-toxic to humans, specifically formulated for effective fire suppression.

During the event, Ojiaka noted that the product is already gaining traction, with patronage from agencies such as the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Anambra State Fire Service, and even interest from international markets including Germany.

The Controller General applauded the initiative and assured the company of the Service’s willingness to support indigenous innovations, particularly those that align with global safety standards. He emphasized the importance of economic growth through local production, encouraging other agencies to follow suit in embracing homegrown solutions.

Also present at the event were top-ranking officials of the Federal Fire Service, including the Deputy Controller General in charge of Administrative and Supply, DCG Olumode Samuel, the Assistant Controller General in charge of Federal Operations, ACG Tambari, and several other senior officers.

The Federal Fire Service continues to demonstrate its unwavering support for Nigerian-made innovations, reinforcing its commitment to national development and technological advancement in the emergency services sector.
