Even In His 2nd Term, Dapo Abiodun’s Official Residence Remains Vacant

Information at hand revealed that the official residence of the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun remains vacant.

The Governor did not make use of the place officially known as Government House all through his first term – 2019 to 2023.

And is also yet to move in, in his second term which started on May 29, 2023.

The Governor has been alternating between his official residence in Iperu – about forty minutes drive to the state capital, Abeokuta – and the Presidential lodge, reserved for visiting dignitaries since he took office in 2019.

The Government House in Isale Igbehin and the Presidential Lodge at Government Reserved Area are located in the State capital but in different areas.

Though different reasons have been thrown up over Abiodun not taking up residence at his official quarters, those who should insist that the development largely has to do with the relation between the Governor and his predecessor.

Abiodun succeeded Ibikunle Amosun, his very close friend turned passionate political adversary.
