Details: Tinubu Delivers ‘’Devastating’’ Blow Against Aregbesola

Powerful politician Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered a devastating blow against the influence of Rauf Aregbesola, the minister of interior in the politics of Lagos State.
Societynow.ng learned that Tinubu has directed party men – of the All Progressives Congress (APC) – in Alimosho, which is Aregbesola’s political base in Lagos State to go through other persons in dealings with him (Tinubu).
Aregbesola, a former commissioner in Lagos State grew his influence to become a major voice in the politics of Lagos State by acting as the eyes and voice of Tinubu in Alimosho, which is one of the largest high votes areas in Lagos State.

Aregbesola clutched to the status even when he rode on the influence of Tinubu to serve as a two-term governor of Osun State.
‘’He kept a close watch on the politics of Lagos to the resentment of others who thought it was an opportunity for them to be up In the scheme of things’’ an insider revealed.
Societynow.ng learned Tinubu has, however, dealt a devastating blow to Aregbesola’s influence with a bold move to take it away.
‘’Former Deputy Governor Orelope (Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire) and another person have been appointed as the go-between person between Tinubu and the needs party men in Alimosho’’ societynow.ng learned.

Orelope- Adefulire is serving as the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Sustainable Development Goal.
Societynow.ng gathered that Tinubu’s move against Aregbesola is in face of thickening talks that the minister is quietly becoming a threat to his political ambition.
Sources claim some northern elements are considering Aregbesola as a possible candidate in the face of agitation that the Presidential slot of the ruling All Progressives Congress be zoned to the Southwest.
‘’Although Aregbesola continues to proclaim his loyalty, Tinubu is taking no chances’’ societynow.ng learned.
‘’Asiwaju is not willing to concentrate power, the influence that can hurt him in the hand of an individual, especially one decorated with talks that can hurt him hence the move against Aregbesola’’ a source pointed out.
