The claim by embattled Senator Orji Uzor Kalu that he would create a twentieth-century economy for Nigeria if he becomes the President of Nigeria has been shot down.

And it took just a single to do this.

Kalu was the governor of Abia state from 1999 to 2007.

He is facing corruption charges over his performance – including alleged abuse of office and corrupt enrichment – in office and got a 12 years prison sentence upturned based on the technicality of law for a N7.65Billion (Naira) corruption case .

The ruling that canceled his prison term after he spent some months provided room for a retrial.

The prosecuting agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has vowed to take up the gauntlet against him, once again, in the court of law.
