Details: Singer D’Banj Allegedly Abducted Lady Who Accused Him Of Rape

Aside from the rape allegation hanging on his neck, Singer D’Banj (Dapo Oyebanjo) has also been accused of abduction.

The singer at the center of a rape accusation is accused of abducting his accuser, Seyitan Babatayo.

This was after the Singer was accused of intimidating Seyitan with arrest and detention by the police.

D Josephine Effah- Benjamin, the founder – And Executive Director – at Project Alert details the accusations against D’Banj regarding his accuser with the post that reads…

“Okay, back to the case of Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo (D’Banj) and his manager Damien Okoroafor and lawlessness.

“IMPUNITY! IMPUNITY!! IMPUNITY!!

“A young girl calls out D’Banj on Twitter that he raped her in an hotel in Lekki in 2018, and D’Banj’s response was to get the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team, headed by ACP Kwari to swoop in. I’m not sure the boss Kwari was with them. They arrested the young girl on Tuesday evening and kept her overnight at their office in Shodipo -Ikeja.

“A couple of us got to know yesterday morning and started working our phones. We were able to get her released at about 6.30pm without payment of the N500,000 that they had demanded for bail. Meanwhile her phone was taken and all her tweets on Dbanj and the unfortunate incidence deleted.

“I secured an appointment for this young lady and some of our colleagues providing psycho-social support to her, to see the Lagos State PPRO this morning at 10am. But wow, what did I wake up to? The girl was missing.

“D’Banj and his manager Damien Okoroafor had gone ahead to grab this girl again this morning after being released by the police, and they took her to an address in Lekki. At some point her phone wasn’t going through. The girl didn’t know where they were taking her to, but our colleagues used GPRS to track her phone and get the coordinates. SUCH IMPUNITY. If D’banj says he is innocent of the girl’s accusations and call out on Twitter, why go to these lengths. Why “kidnap” this girl? Why not sue her for libel or whatever and have your day in court. Why resort to extra judicial means?

“The young girl is safe now. In the custody of colleagues. She is so so traumatised and just wants all these to end. She wants to leave it to GOD. But NO survivors of sexual and gender based violence MUST NOT BE MUZZLED. IMPUNITY MUST STOP.

“This dangerous trend of the IGP’s IRT team being used to go after women who call out their violators and seek justice for their victimisation must stop. YES the women also need to report the incidents to the police, but you and I know the fears and challenges that exist therein.

“There definitely must be a way to end this madness.

“AND LESS I FORGET. If you feel you are a BIG MAN and these “greedy young girls” could target you for your BIGNESS and MONEY, then ZIP UP and stay in your lane. Leave them alone. Even if they come to you, send them away. You don’t have to take what they offer. I AM SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.

“Thanks Ayodeji, Xeenarh, Kadaria, Chioma, Bukky, Iheoma and very other feminist who stood up for this girl. History will be kind to you all. I KNOW THE DRAMA IS JUST BEGINNING.”
