Increasing numbers of people are kicking against alleged planned release of actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka James better known as Baba Ijesha from police custody.

Baba Ijesha has been in police detention at Panti over allegations of sexually assaulting a minor since April 19, 2021.

Reports, however, emerged earlier today that he may be released tomorrow (Friday, April 30, 2021) and charged with a lesser crime than rape which is accuser Damilola Adekoya, the entertainer known as Princess and those outraged by the allegation are pushing for.

The allegation of rape against Baba Ijesha is said to be statute barred (he allegedly committed it seven years ago) but the offence that earned him arrest is said to rank lower – though his accusers claim otherwise but are unwilling to release video footage as part of efforts to protect the victim.

A video of his self confession at the crime scene – Entertainer princess’s residence in Yaba Lagos – has been released to block his planned release.

His chief accuser Princess and other persons including actress Iyabo Ojo, stormed Panti Police station today – Thursday, April 29, 2021 – in protest against reports of alleged plan to release Baba Ijesha.

Further revelation has it that an online petition has been opened demanding the prosecution of Baba Ijesha for rape based on his self confession.

Over one thousand two hundred persons are said to have signed the petition.
