Details: Gbenga Daniel Absent As Dapo Abiodun Meets With All APC Candidates

Governor Dapo Abiodun held a meeting with all the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the 2023 election in Ogun state.
The meeting happened over the weekend SocietyNow.Ng learned.
But former Governor Gbenga Daniel was “prominently absent”.
Daniel is the candidate of the APC for Ogun East senatorial district.
The former Governor’s absence at the meeting of all APC candidates convened by Abiodun who is the gubernatorial candidate of the party for the 2023 election continues to fuel talks of intense conflicts.
Abiodun and his loyalists including party leaders were also absent at the flag-off of Daniel’s senatorial campaign on Sunday, October 2, 2022, SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
Daniel reportedly snubbed a directive by Abiodun through the party that all candidates should not start their campaigns until further notice.
Daniel has continued with his senatorial campaign since.
The meeting between Abiodun and other APC candidates over the weekend is a prelude to beginning their campaigns across the state.
Former Governor Olusegun Osoba was prominent at the meeting that had Senator Solomon Adeola “Yayi”, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Abiodun Akinlade, Afolabi Shuaib and others.
Daniel was one of the political heavyweights in Ogun state that helped Abiodun to power in 2019. They fell out over the Governor’s alleged actions and inactions after he assumed office. Their conflict intensified with Daniel snubbing Abiodun’s interest to pick the APC senatorial candidate for Ogun East.
“It is now a supremacy tussle of a sort with Daniel continuing to snub anything move that postures him as under the control of Abiodun” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
Further digs revealed that talks hinting Daniel is likely to work together with former Governor Ibikunle Amosun to determine the next Governor of Ogun state has also not helped the situation.
