Striking workers have dealt Governor Dapo Abiodun a major blow in Ogun State.

They have completely shut down the state as it regards the activities of Government.

Societynow.g gathered that staffers of all organs of Government in the employment of the State complied with the stay at home order as the 7days warning strike gets underway.

Activities at Internal Revenue Service, Water Corporation, Local Government, and all the other agencies that normally provide skeletal operations have been grounded at press time societynow.ng learned.

Insiders confirmed the strike has become effective as the Dapo Abiodun’s government failed to adopt any form of push back to halt it.

The workers led by Comrade Emmanuel Bankole embarked on a 7days warning strike today, Wednesday, September 16, 2020, as the Government failed to meet its demand after a 14days ultimatum.

The demands include payment of the agreed and signed minimum wage, deductions from salaries, outstanding pension and gratuity of retirees, and related welfare issues.

The workers worked tirelessly to enthrone him as the Governor of Ogun State.

Abiodun rode on the animosity against immediate past Governor Ibikunle Amosun who sacked labor leaders for daring to go on strike and suffered the workers their ‘’entitlements’’.

Abiodun promised to make things right if he becomes Governor and labor leaders led by Tajudeen Ambali, one of the victims of Amosun’s highhandedness mobilized workers to vote for him.

‘’So it is really a sad twist that labor leaders have mobilized workers to shut down Abiodun’s government over the same issues’’ societynow.ng learned.

According to the information at hand, labor leaders were reluctant in going ahead with the strike but Governor Abiodun didn’t help the situation by refusing to meet with them and the inability of his emissaries led by Secretary to the State Government Tokunbo Talabi and Chief of Staff Shuabi Afolabi Salisu and Commissioner for Finance Dapo Okubadejo to meet up to ‘’expectations’’.
