Indications have emerged that former Minister Rauf Aregbesola will be spending more time away from the public glare.

Those who should now say this is to enable the resolution of the conflicts with President Bola Tinubu and others caught in the crisis between them.

Aregbesola, a former two-term Governor of Osun state, was the second most powerful person in the Tinubu political family before things fell apart.

Concerned persons are currently working on mending fences between them – and other prominent stakeholders ensnared in the discord like former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Oyetola, now the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, lost the election to become a second-term Governor of Osun state in the face of the protracted crisis.

Aregbesola has been prevailed upon to maintain a low profile for peacemakers to resolve issues at stake – without any other intentional or unintentional addition to the problems at hand.

Though it is not clear, how soon a peace that allows for renewed interactions will be in place, sources insist the process towards achieving this is “has gone far”.

Before his recent appearance at the 40th anniversary lecture of the Guardian Newspaper, Aregbesola’s last major outing was on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, when he launched the “The Omoluabi Tendency”, a caucus of what he labeled “genuine foundation members” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state.
