Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun is in for further humiliation.

The governor has lost a larger chunk of his political might in his lost cause to stop Dapo Abiodun from becoming the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun state.

And he appears about to lose more.

After failing to stop Abiodun, Amosun is currently positioning his preferred choice – Abiodun Akinlade – to succeed him on the platform of another party, Allied People’s Movement (APM).

The governor has gone as far as taking Akinlade to President Muhammadu Buhari for “subtle endorsement”.

But whatever “perception” Amosun is milking out his closeness to the President and Akinlade’s visit to the Presidency, in the bid to make the APM gubernatorial candidate the next governor of Ogun state, is about to be blown to pieces.

President Buhari is scheduled to visit Ogun state next week- except an unforeseen occurrence forces a shift – to hand over the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial flag to Dapo Abiodun.

Societynow.ng gathered that ordinarily being a member of the party and the chief executive governor of the state, Amosun’s role should be that of “Chief Host” and the handing over of the gubernatorial flag to candidate Abiodun is to be carried out between party chairman Adams Oshiomhole and President Buhari.

“But because of the prevailing circumstances, there are strong indications that the arrangement will change in Ogun state” societynow.ng gathered.

Societynow.ng gathered there is a plan to completely blow Amosun’s plot against the party apart by getting him to present the gubernatorial flag to Abiodun in a resounding endorsement of the latter as “his choice and party candidate”.

This is against the background that Amosun has vowed that Abiodun won’t become his successor.

Insiders disclosed that the arrangement to actualize the endorsement plot and heavily leverage on the pictorial, video and word of mouth representation of the “development” is being fine-tuned.

“And from what I gathered the president is being positioned to make the request that Amosun should handover the APC’s gubernatorial flag to Abiodun” a source stated.

Checks by societynow.ng revealed this development would in no small measure rock the gubernatorial ambition of Amosun’s man in APM – Akinlade.

“Except Amosun shuns the ceremony, am yet to see how he will wriggle out of the plot” a source observed.
