Fifth term seeking federal lawmaker, Femi Gbajabiamila has taken another huge step that would help douse the controversy of his brand new G- Wagon gift to wife, Salamotu.

The majority leader has been heavily criticized for presenting his wife a flamboyant 50th birthday gift in the midst of trying economic period.

The public outcry which took a heavy toll on his image as a “serious” and “dedicated” people’s representative forced a public apology from his family and friends – and a statement from the federal lawmaker explaining the “importance of the gift”.
