Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun has moved to end the cold war with former Governor Gbenga Daniel.

The cold war has seen the two chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) snub each other’s campaign.

Daniel is the Senatorial candidate of the APC in Ogun East for the 2023 election while Abiodun is the gubernatorial candidate of the party.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the cold war was a struggle for relevance and control that went out of play.

Abiodun as Governor wants to be in control while Daniel demands the respect that comes with his stature as a former Governor, a political heavyweight, and a major contributor to Abiodun taking power in 2019.

Emerging details have it that Abiodun has offered the Olive branch by recognizing Daniel as the Deputy Grand Patron of the APC Campaign Council in Ogun State.

Daniel’s predecessor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba is named the Grand Patron.

The party structure firmly in the control of Abiodun made the announcement.

According to a statement by Tunde Oladunjoye, the Publicity Secretary of the Ogun State chapter of the APC ” The Patrons Committee is the highest body of the Campaign Council and it has former governors, former deputy governors, ex-senators, former members of House of Reps who are members of the party, along with other top leaders of the party drawn from the three senatorial districts in Ogun State”.

The Campaign Council will oversee the party’s activities to ensure that APC comes top in the Presidential and all elective positions in the 2023 election.
