Communication Minister, Adebayo Shittu, Gov Abiola Ajimobi’s Underground Fight Finally Erupts

It is no longer an underground affair.

It is now in the open and supporters are no longer shielding the sides they belong.

That is the simmering underground fight between minister for communication Barrister Adebayo Shittu and Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi.

The duo are said to have been playing a cat and mouse game over who controls the All Progressives Congress structure in Oyo state.

Societynow gathered while the governor drum support with position as Chief Executive of the state using inherent influences and power, the minister lobby party men with the clout of connections at the Federal level.

The stage appeared set to determined who has amassed the better support amongst party men but for a major play by Gov Ajimobi that gifted him all the gains of the combat without ‘’fighting’’.

Instead of staging a primary and a local government election to elect council chairmen, the governor opted to appoint caretaker committees and chairmen.Adebayo Shittu

‘’by doing that, he has put his men in place at the grass root to continue spreading his influence for the big fight ahead’’ a source analysed.

‘’that was the move that blew open their fight…the minister refused to take the development laying low’’ a source disclosed.

According to information available, the communication minister during a live television programme tagged ‘’Bottom Line’’ on MITV tagged Ajimobi’s action ‘’an impunity’’ and ‘’it must be checkmated at all costs’’.

The minister further declared the people are tired of the style of governance of his party man.

Checks however revealed the Governor appointed the caretaker chairmen under the cover of a court ruling that stopped staging of a council election until a case regarding creation of more local governments is determined.
