The Director-General (D.G) of the Biyi Otegbeye campaign council, Muyiwa Oladipo has cleared the air on talks that the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state has agreed to work for Ladi Adebutu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to stop the re-election bid of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Abiodun is the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the March 11, 2023 election.

“Why can’t Adebutu work for Otegbeye” Oladipo, a former speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly queried and added, “Of the three candidates, Otegbeye remains the most credible, the best and we are actively campaigning towards winning”.

The Otegbeye Campaign D.G explained to SocietyNow.Ng that although some political parties have formed an alliance with the ADC and the party is open to more alliances, there is no such arrangement with PDP.

“We have formed alliances that will be announced soon with some other political parties that have agreed to work for the emergence of Otegbeye as the next Governor of Ogun state but not with PDP” Oladipo who served as the commissioner for Local Government Affairs and later tourism and culture in the immediate past administration in Ogun state explained.

He, however, stated that a possible alliance with Adebutu and the PDP to help Otegbeye become the next Governor of Ogun state has not been foreclosed.

Oladipo’s clarification put to rest claims that Otegbeye has agreed to back Adebutu against Abiodun as the next Governor of Ogun state.

Otegbeye who just finished campaigning in Ado/Odo Ota and Ishagamu areas of Ogun state is the preferred candidate of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun as the next Governor of Ogun state.

Amosun and Abiodun are members of the APC.
