Come what may, former Deputy Governor of Central Bank, Adebayo Adelabu is unrelenting in his bid to become the next Governor of Oyo state.

And his actions speak of his resolve to achieve his aim.

Though at odds with Governor Abiola Ajimobi – the man he hopes to succeed – over the issue of overreaching, Adelabu has embraced another approach to get his will done.

Information spilling out from his side revealed the former deputy governor at Central Bank is now targeting Ajimobi’s strong men, assiduously courting them to gain their support in the bid to force the Governor to back his aspiration.

Information sponged off papermacehonline.com revealed one of the methods being employed in Adelabu’s latest approach.

The former deputy governor at Central Bank is said to target strong influencers within the Ajimobi political structure and lobby them with “gifts” and “political assurances”.

Papermacheonline.com reported one of such moves.

According to the news platform with strong contacts in Oyo state, Adelabu recently invited members of Ajimobi’s inner caucus led by the Governor’s brother Wasiu to his Abuja abode.

Promises and assurances regarding Adelabu’s gubernatorial ambition were reportedly made on either side and inspired by how the meeting went, the gubernatorial aspirant was said to have doled out a million naira each to all those who came visiting.

But how did the news leak?

Papermacheonline.com further reported that Wasiu was yet to leave Abuja before putting a call to Governor Ajimobi to narrate all that went down in Adelabu’s home.

“The rest was a matter of chain reaction” a source pointed out.

Checks revealed Ajimobi had initially supported the gubernatorial ambition of Adelabu before the news got to him that the former Central Bank top shot had equally pledged allegiance to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to help him become the Governor of Oyo state.

“That was how the issue of disloyalty came in…Ajimobi and Tinubu though major players in the All Progressives Congress, they do not see eye to eye as a result of an intense cold war of influence” an insider provided insight.

Emerging details have it that Ajimobi had turned his search for a successor away from Adelabu while the later is seeking ways to get back lost support.
