Aregbesola’s Govt Is Deceptive – Guber Aspirant Prince Wale Alakinde

As a stakeholder of Osun State, I am passionately committed to liberating my people from their present bondage. I weep each time I drive through the state and see all sorts of abnormalities and I am strongly convinced that it is high time we exposed my people to those realities; to reposition their perception of the present administration. I mean government policies must be in the same frame of reference with the yearnings and aspirations of the people and not employing graduates to sweep the street for a meager N10, 000.00 per month“.

This were the submissions of Osun State gubernatorial candidate come next election, Prince Wale Alakinde in a chat.

According to Alakinde, “I strongly feel there are still lots of issues yet to be addressed. On the whole, I feel our people are not satisfied with the present administration because they feel the present administration in Osun State have only been doing media governance. Claiming what is not. I mean what cannot be verified or confirmed. Giving the public an impression of what is not happening and this is what the present administration in Osun State has been doing since its inception over two years ago“.

Concerning his priorities if elected as governor, Akinlade disclosed that “ We have a `3-Point Agenda`. Firstly, we will address the socio-economic development challenges in the area of health, education, rural electrification and water. Secondly, we will give attention to infrastructural facilities especially roads and housing while our priority will also be for the youth empowerment drive. Thirdly, we are also passionately committed to providing a constructive engagement for the Osun youths that won`t make them tools for the devil. We will partner with organizations to come with employment and empowerment opportunities“.

On his rumoured unpopularity, Akinlade stated that “I don’t know what you mean by popular but if being passionately committed to this cause is popular, I am. If being in the forefront of the vanguard of Osun stakeholders clamouring for change, I am. If being considered worthy by my people to lead this `change revolution`, then I am absolutely not only popular but also strong politically. Realistically, I have little antecedents in politics, infact, I have never contested for any elective post before but I believe there is always a starting point. As regards godfatherism, I don’t believe in it and I don’t have any godfather in politics. My godfathers are the good people of Osun State. My philosophy have always been hinged on the fact that the electorates should endeavour to evaluate and decide on aspirants based on their personal qualities and attributes and not on their wealth or political affiliation“.
