Aregbesola Suffers Heartbreak In Move To Determine Successor

Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola has suffered a heart break in the bid to determine his successor.

As part of efforts to achieve his aim, the outgoing governor is going all out to make chief of staff, Gboyega Oyetola the All Progressives Congress flag bearer.

But the effort has suffered a major hitch.

The National Working Committee of the party has rejected a major process key to Aregbesola achieving his objective.

The NWC says no the governor’s push for Direct Voting at Thursday shadow election to determine party candidate.

The party’s Working Committee has opted for the more popular demand of voting by Delegate.

Sources allege Aregbesola wanted a direct voting system to be able to bring on board his major backers.

“But the delegates are known and the aspirants have been working on them for months…he is unsure of their support, especially based on intense opposition to the Oyetola for Governor project within the party” a source stated.

Aregbesola and his handlers are said to have gone back to the drawing board to plot way out less than three days to the shadow election.

Oyetola is the step brother to installer of governors in Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu is fingered as the main force behind the agenda for Oyetola to succeed Aregbesola as Osun Governor.
