Major Trouble As Armed Police Men Take Over Osun APC Secretariat 2Days To Guber Primaries

Emerging details have it that armed policemen have taken over the secretariat of the Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress.

This development comes barely two days to the shadow election to determine the gubernatorial candidate of the party.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola is pushing for a direct voting system as opposed to the earmarked voting by delegates.

The direct voting system allows for increased numbers of party men to participate in the process and creating room for “manipulation of result” those against it insist.

The opposition to the move by Aregbesola earned state Chairman Prince Gboyega Famoodun suspension from office by the State Working Committee on Monday.

On Tuesday party men from the high voting area of Osun west threatened to boycott the process over the allegation of “marginalization”.

The development is said to protest against Governor Aregbesola’s all out attempt to ensure his chief of staff, Gboyega Oyetola becomes party candidate.

As tension rise, sources confirmed armed policemen have been drafted to take over the state secretariat ahead of the gubernatorial primary scheduled for Thursday, July 19.

“The place is deserted at press time” sources claim.
