All The Details…Tension In Osun As Talks “State Boys” Targeting Those Against Emergence Of Tinubu’s Brother As APC Candidate Thickens

There is great tension in Osun state.

And this development is said to have roots in allegations that political thugs popularly known as “state boys” are targeting those against the moves to make Gboyega Oyetola gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress without following due process.

Oyetola, is the preferred choice of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

He is the Chief of Staff to the Governor and also stepbrother to the state helmsman mentor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Attempts to throw the “rules book” aside in making him party candidate is said to be facing stiff opposition within the party.

Insiders disclosed the situation has reached such a height that the Governor’s commissioners are openly campaigning for other aspirants.

Party chieftains are also said to be towing the same party.

Insiders confirmed the chairman of the forum of APC Local Government chairmen Ayokunnu Awotidoye is passionately mobilizing colleagues to kick against moves to impose Oyegbola as the party candidate.

The forum is said to have put together a petition to the National Working Committee of the APC on the “dire” implication of imposing Oyetola as party flag bearer for September 2018 gubernatorial election.

These growing oppositions are said to be unsettling “major stakeholders” in the Oyetola for Governor agenda.

“And it appears the gloves are now off” a source claimed.

Societynow.ng gathered that the growing talks is that the “State Boys” have been unleashed on the “opposing figures”.

This development is said to be forcing growing numbers of those against Oyetola’s imposition.

“Awotidoye is said to be staying put in Abuja with plans to petition the Inspector General of Police that his life is not safe” societynow.ng gathered.

Checks revealed that the “State Boys” became a permanent fixture in the political landscape of Osun when Rauf Aregbesola became Governor of Osun state.

“The boys were brought in from out of state and obviously have state backing because they are known to act as shadow security at government and party events and always easily get away with the consequences of acts of impunities” a source claimed.
