Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola is facing fresh turbulence over attempts to install Gboyega Oyetola, the half-brother of his political mentor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as successor.

Oyetola is also Aregbesola’s chief of staff.

The latest development comes after Oyetola has emerged All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Osun state in a process currently being contested in court by popular aspirant Kunle Rasheed Adegoke.

K-RAD as the aggrieved politician is widely known is challenging the legality of the process reportedly decorated with all manners of illegalities and malpractices.

The latest allegations coming the way of Governor Aregbesola have roots in the under dispute primary election that produced Oyetola as party’s candidate.

Emerging revelations have it that the governor actually sponsored the campaigns of some of the aspirants in the shadow election.

“Adegoke, Adeoti and Lasun appear the people that didn’t fall into that category” a source stated.

Adegoke is Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, Adeoti is Moshood Adeoti who refused to partake in the election and dumped the APC to become the candidate of the Action Democratic Party while Lasun is Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Yusuf Lasun who insists the process was rigged to favor eventual winner Oyetola.

The emerging allegation against Aregbesola is that he gave the other aspirants “between N50million to N150million”.

The interpretation being given the “donation” is that it was made to make the beneficiaries act as “props” to give the shadow election “a façade of correctness”.
