Emerging details have it that Michael Odugunle – more popularly known as Baba Ajilo – remains the new chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW)in Lagos State only in the media.

Societynow.ng learned that the National Executive of the NURTW has ordered that the status quo, before Ajilo was announced Lagos state chairman of the transport union remains.

The implication is that outgoing chairman Tajudeen Agbede remains in charge and major contender as his successor Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) retains own seat as the Treasurer of the transport union body in Lagos state.

Agbede, a strong supporter of former Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had engineered the emergence of Baba Ajilo as the new chairman of the NURTW in Lagos state.

The move was meant to prevent MC Oluomo from becoming the successor.

Societynow.ng gathered that Oluomo took the case to the National Executive of the NURTW and secured a favorable ruling.

Outgoing National President Najeem Yasin ordered that the situation in Lagos state should return to the status quo.

Yasin also recommended that incoming President Ibikunle Baruwa be allowed to ‘’resolve’’ the situation when he takes office on August 2019,

Interestingly, Agbede intensely contested against Baruwa from becoming the NURTW President.

MC Oluomo passionately backed Baruwa to become national president of the transport union body.

MC Oluomo and Baruwa are currently out of the country on the same trip.

Insiders insist the development is a major clue of what is to come and stakeholders have started re-aligning against Agbede’s interest in line with this thought.

Societynow.ng gathered that one of Agbede’s strong backbones J-Pron, the branch chairman in charge of Fadeyi has made up with Seego (Mustapha Adekunle ) the chief backer of Oluomo’s chairmanship ambition.

Seego is fingered as the contact between Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the NURTW in Lagos state.

‘’Even Oluomo is leveraging on Seego’s influence to be close to Tinubu’’ a source insists.

Societynow.ng learned that with this arrangement, J-Pron is spearheading a ‘’power has shifted to Oluomo’s side let us support him to avoid needless fight’’ on the mainland while Seego works underground to get Abu Stainless – blinded with a gunshot to the face in another supremacy tussle – and others on Lagos Island to back the Oluomo for Chairman agenda.

‘’The game plan is to dish out to Agbede what he planned to do to Oluomo if he had won the NURTW Presidency election. He wanted to render Oluomo irrelevant and that is what they are plotting for him’’ societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng learned that Agbede is not going away without a fight as leader of his loyalists, Kunle Poly ( Kunle Lawal) – branch chairman in Lagos Island – continues to beat the drum of war insisting ‘’strong things would happen’’ if Agbede is not allowed to install own successor.

‘’But with the way things stand, I guess Poly is just making the threats so as not to suffer too much sanction because even Agbede knows the game is about to become checkmate’’ societynow.ng learned.
