The Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, has intervened in the simmering political rift between Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Gbenga Daniel, brokering what sources describe as a “peace of sorts” ahead of the August 16 Remo Federal Constituency by-election.

As the paramount ruler of Remoland—which covers Ikenne, Remo North, and Sagamu—Oba Ajayi holds sway over both men.

Senator Daniel, whose political stronghold is Sagamu, and Governor Abiodun, a native of Iperu, are among his subjects.

The monarch convinced the two leaders to sheath their swords and promised to lead a full reconciliation effort after Saturday’s Federal House of Representatives election.

In the face of the action by the Ogun state government, Daniel has declared his commitment to ensuring the APC’s victory on Saturday, signalling a temporary ceasefire in a rivalry that has long divided Remoland’s political powerhouses.
