Adeola Yayi In Open Meeting With Gbenga Daniel Amid Whispers Of Rift With Abiodun

Senators from Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel and Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, shared attendance at a ceremony today.
The event was the Adult Harvest of the All Souls Church in Lekki, Lagos State.
Adeola, popularly known as “Senator Yayi,” was the Chairman of the Harvest Committee, and Daniel, otherwise known as “OGD,” was the Special Guest of Honour at the place of worship, which another Ogun State politician, Abimbola Ashiru, also attends.

The three of them sat side by side – intermittently sharing words – throughout the event.
The development comes on the heels of growing whispers that Senator Yayi, a leading contender in the Ogun State gubernatorial race, is at odds with Governor Abiodun.
The Senator, representing Ogun West and a major contributor to Abiodun’s election in 2019 and re-election in 2023, continues to deny these claims, while the Governor remains silent.

On the other hand, the political quarrel between Governor Abiodun and Senator Daniel—who represents Ogun East and also contributed to Abiodun becoming Governor—is not hidden.
The partial demolition of a property belonging to Olufunke, the wife of Senator Daniel, by the Ogun State government for environmental infractions is alleged to be one of the consequences of this ongoing feud.

Daniel, also a two-term former Governor of Ogun State, is believed to be working with Ibikunle Amosun, another influential politician in Ogun State, to deny Abiodun the chance of getting his desired successor elected.
Amosun is also a former two-term Governor of Ogun State.
Daniel, Amosun, and Adeola Yayi control three of the four most influential political structures in Ogun State.
