Adebutu: “Issues Will Soon Be Resolved” – PDP Chairman Declares

The chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Sikirulai Ogundele has declared that his party will “participate in the forthcoming election in Ogun State” and ” issues within the party would be resolved in no distant time.”

A court judgment canceled all primary elections held by the PDP in Ogun state and ordered fresh elections that accommodate all interests.

The judgment by a Federal High Court in Abeokuta that voided the legitimacy of all candidates of the PDP for the 2023 election was the result of a case brought against Ladi Adebutu as the gubernatorial candidate by sympathizers of another aspirant, Jimi Lawal.

Adebutu is contesting the judgment in the face of the electoral umpire, Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) decision to obey the decision of the court not to recognize any candidate produced by the canceled primary elections.

Speaking on the unfolding development at the wards meeting of PDP members in Remo North Local Government, Ogun state on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Ogundele who attended in the company of Adebutu urged “urged all party members to secure their voters’ cards in preparation for the coming 2023 general election.”

Assuring members that the party will take part in the 2023 election in Ogun state, Ogundele further assured them that the victory of the PDP is also without doubt.

“PDP would participate in the forthcoming election in Ogun State… issues within the party would be resolved in no distant time.” Ogundele asserted in a report monitored by SocietyNow.Ng on the social media page of Lado TV, the platform devoted to the activities of Adebutu and the PDP in Ogun state.

Adebutu who also spoke at the Remo North wards meetings urged supporters to ” remain calm and shun all forms of fear or distractions, describing his mission to save Ogun State from the shackles and maladministration of  All Progressive Congress, as unaborted (not aborted).
