Thursday, April 6, 2023, Gbenga Daniel was a year older.

The Senator-Elect for Ogun West clocked 63.

SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed that the quiet birthday celebration further glared the raging fight between the Senator-Elect and Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Governor Abiodun

Abiodun and his aides did not give the former Governor the usual recognition given to party chieftains, political leaders, associates, and appointees on such a special day.

This development is in the face of moves by Aremo Olusegun Osoba, the state’s leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to broker a truce.

“Osoba has waded in and trying to broker a truce of a sort between Daniel and Abiodun, the truce is expected to cage whatever animosity exists between their followers” SocietyNow.Ng.

The move being championed by Osoba is believed to have resulted in a ceasefire of open “hostilities.”

Elder statement, Osoba

Daniel’s birthday comes amid a messy quarrel over his role in the 2023 Ogun state gubernatorial election.

The development resulted in a near loss for Abiodun, the candidate of his party- APC.

The Governor secured a disputed second-term win by 13,915 votes more than Adebutu.

Abiodun got 276, 298 votes while Adebutu secured 262,383 votes.

Adebutu is legally challenging the victory insisting that he was leading by 33,000 votes before orchestrated violence forced the cancelation of votes in areas he is popular.
