Transcorp Hilton Abuja has firmly denied allegations circulating on social media that it cancelled a booking for a political rally, describing the claims as “entirely false,” “misleading,” and “fabricated.”

In an official statement issued on Thursday, April 9, 2026, and signed by its Acting General Manager, Mohamed Said Khalil, the management of the iconic hospitality establishment moved swiftly to set the record straight amid growing speculation.

“Our attention has been drawn to false and misleading information circulating on social media alleging that Transcorp Hilton Abuja cancelled a booking for a political rally,” the statement read.

The hotel clarified that while an inquiry was indeed made, no formal arrangement was ever concluded, effectively nullifying claims of any cancellation.

“An inquiry was made on Easter Monday; but there was no availability to accommodate the request. Consequently, no booking was made at any point,” the management stated.

Reaffirming its position, the hotel stressed that “there was no cancellation, contrary to what is being purported,” insisting that the narrative being pushed in some quarters lacks any factual basis.

Describing the reports as “inaccurate, malicious, and entirely fabricated,” the management urged members of the public to disregard the claims in their entirety.

The swift rebuttal comes amid heightened political activities and sensitivities, with institutions increasingly compelled to respond promptly to viral claims capable of shaping public perception.

By drawing a clear distinction between an inquiry and a confirmed booking, the management of Transcorp Hilton Abuja sought to put an end to the controversy, maintaining that at no point was there a reservation to cancel, and therefore no grounds for the allegation currently in circulation.
