The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Kaduna Command, has contained a fire outbreak at a residential bungalow behind the Kaduna State Government House in Kurmin Mashi, with no casualties recorded.
The incident occurred on Saturday at No. Abu Ahmed Street, Kurmin Mashi, Kaduna, following a distress call received by the command at about 7:45 a.m.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the command said it immediately mobilised a fire engine, FFS 08, from its Kawo Station to the scene.
The firefighting operation was led by DSF Ogbonyomi Tope Henry, alongside operational personnel from the station.
According to the statement, the fire affected a three-bedroom bungalow, prompting the firefighters to deploy a medium water jet to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining properties.
“The fire was successfully brought under control and confirmed extinguished. No loss of life or injuries were recorded,” the statement said.
The command expressed sympathy with those affected by the incident, reaffirming its commitment to protecting lives and property across Kaduna State.
It also urged residents to report fire emergencies promptly to enable firefighters to respond swiftly and minimise damage.
The Federal Fire Service provided its Kaduna Command emergency contact number as 08024551935 for members of the public to report fire outbreaks and other emergencies.
