3 Major Ways The MTN Scholarship Scheme 2020 Is Soaring Academic Excellence In Nigerian Students

MTN Foundation has awarded scholarships to Nigerian students through its annual scholarship scheme.

The newly awarded scholars will each enjoy a scholarship grant worth N200,000 annually till graduation as long as they maintain a CGPA of 3.5 or its equivalent. The scholarship covers tuition, book allowance and stipend.

This year though, there is a twist! Here are three things you should know

Over 360 Nigerian students have been awarded scholarship grants this year!

Of the 43,000 students that applied for MTN’s scholarship, 360 Nigerian students were awarded. The awardees cut across various public tertiary institutions in the country. After graduation, scholars will enjoy a number of benefits. One of which is attending the career incubation boot camp, otherwise known as employability workshop where scholars were trained by professionals on how to make the most of their careers.

Top 10 scoring candidates of JAMB will be awarded scholarships every year starting from 2020!

For the first time ever, the MTN Foundation will be awarding scholarship grants to the top 10 scoring candidates of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organised by the Joint Admission Matriculation Examination (JAMB). This was instituted in 2020 to reward academic excellence and encourage hard work among Nigerian students.

Eight scholars are beneficiaries of the Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi Prize

The Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi prize was instituted in July 2020 in celebration of MTN Foundation’s Chairman’s 80th birthday for eight outstanding students studying Law and Pharmacy in Nigerian tertiary institutions. The MTN Foundation will support them in their third year till graduation with an annual scholarship worth 200,000 as long as they maintain their grades.

These new developments were announced during the MTN scholarships event on November 12, 2020, which doubled as an award and induction ceremony for the MTN scholars
