Wole Oke Lures More PDP Osun Members To APC
has sparked widespread and intense discussions
Federal House of Representatives member, Oluwole Oke, has lured more members of the ruling party in Osun State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oke, who is serving his fifth term as a federal lawmaker under the PDP, defected to the APC—which controls the Federal Government—in April 2025.
The development, which threw the PDP in Osun State into a frenzy, has sparked widespread and intense discussions.
And Oke has further fueled the buzz with his latest move.
He has successfully convinced all PDP Ward Executives in Ward 7, Esa Oke, Obokun Local Government, including the council secretary, to join him in his new political party.
The lawmaker, who represents Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, revealed this latest maneuver in a social media post on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
He wrote: “Loyalty at its peak. Obokun LG PDP Exco Secretary quits. All PDP Ward Exco in Ward 7, Esa Oke, Obokun LG resigned. What’s more to prove!”
Offering a glimpse into what lies ahead, he added: “We are leaving some of our trusted lieutenants behind to enjoy the fruits of their labour. They’re to also monitor events and revert until we ask them to quit.”
Once regarded as the face of the PDP in Osun State before Governor Ademola Adeleke assumed office, Oke took a provocative jab with his closing message: “Wailers & Attack Dogs!!!! Over to you.”
Insiders say Oke’s defection to the APC is not without controversy, as an alleged political rift with Governor Adeleke has threatened his chances of retaining the PDP ticket for another term in office.
