Sunday Igboho – real name Sunday Adeyemo – may not appear to be an “in your face” celebrity again insiders, however, revealed that he continues to amass support for what he represents.

“Especially from outside the country” societynow.ng learned.

Igboho is the new face of agitation against the scourge of criminals masquerading as herdsmen causing mayhem in the south-west region of Nigeria.

He has attracted unrelenting support from people from the region abroad since his emergence.

The checks conducted by societynow.ng revealed that the support has soared since his town hall meeting with stakeholders led by Dr Leke Otunuga despite the hiccups of the “unchecked utterances” against the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and other Yoruba leaders by Igboho.

The information available revealed that the stakeholders led by Itunuga reached out to Igboho because they see him as one of the options to fight the insecurity that has claimed the lives of some of their friends who visited Nigeria.

“Igboho gained prominence at the time one of their friends was in the clutches of kidnappers, the victim was eventually found dead after ransom was paid” societynow.ng learned.

The victim is identified as the late United States of America-based Edo Prince Dennis ABuda who was reportedly kidnapped on his way back to his base after spending time with relatives in Edo state.

Societynow.ng gathered that this particular case – against the background of others – spurred the Otunuga group to reach out to Igboho as one of the alternative means to tackle the spate of emerging kidnapping by criminals posing as herdsmen.

The added information available revealed that the Town Hall meeting with Otunuga and his group opened the torrent of supports from outside the country for Igboho.

“One of the gains of the support is Igboho’s current tour of different places outside of the country to have a one on one with those interested in supporting the agitation he represents” societynow.ng learned.
