But thanks to the current travails of the former Senator and ex deputy governor of Osun state and attempts by those labelled political opportunists to cash in on the situation – the situation is clear to all.

Both the king and the Prince are engaged in an intense rivalry.
And the depth of the raging fight was put on record by the Ooni when he publicly asserted Omisore has refused to come pay him a visit since he ascended the revered throne.

Societynowng.com learnt the laid down custom in Ife is that no matter how great the battle for the throne is or quarrel with an Ooni before he became an Oba of the source of Yorubas, once he is crowned – everybody fall in line, identify with him and give him al require support.

Information available revealed Omisore a hardcore supporter and very close ally of the immediate past Oonirisa Oba Okunade Sijuade is said to be totally uncomfortable with the manner of emergence of the new Ooni Ogunwusi.

According to information available Omisore whose political relevance stem from a strong grasp on Ife – the Ooni’s seat of power – is of the view political, social and economic clout were used to muscle the way for the emergence of Ooni Ogunwusi by elements alien to the culture of his people.

According to a source Omisore is one of the frontline splinter groups in Ife and Osun state in general that holds the view.

They are said to view his emergence as desecration of the long held sacred customs and tradition of Ife.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Prince Iyiola Omisore are passionate political opponents in different parties.

And to compound the situation the Ooni went to visit Asiwaju in Lagos and not the other way round sparking off speculations of the Piper and tunes.

Societynowng.com learnt just like Omisore, the Ooni knows the implication of what is playing out between the two of them and his angry with the way things are because a visit cum endorsement by Omisore means a lot in curtaining what he is quietly contending with in Ife and Osun state in general.

‘’Whatever is current political status or travails is..one thing you can’t take away from Omisore is that he is a major factor in Osun state, particularly Ife..especially, in Ife…he has a lot of sway with the traditional institution…he was a long term strong ally of immediate past Ooni Sijuade…is current position on Ooni Ogunwusi is in reality an outright threat to the throne, so they can never be friends as things are’’ a source in the know stated candid.

Digs revealed this was the reason Ooni who ordinarily by virtue of his position should be very diplomatic in public pronouncements on issues relating to his subjects, especially someone of Omisore’s standing was quick to score a ‘’beautiful goal’’ against him ( as stated by Omisore’s spokes person- Diran Odeyemi) when political opportunist seeking to cash in on the situation went seeking support to bail Omisore out of EFCC detention over a matter the later consistently maintain his innocence.
