Why Chorus Of 2nd Term For Council Chairman Kehinde “Kendo” Oloyede Is All Over Oshodi/Isolo
is nearing the end of his first term
The chorus is resounding throughout Oshodi/Isolo local government: Kehinde Adeola Oloyede should be granted another term in office as the council chairman.
The businessman-turned-politician is nearing the end of his first term, but his supporters are already advocating for a second, citing the achievements he has made so far.
Before taking office, Kendo, as he is popularly known, was an established property developer. He is credited with significantly improving the local infrastructure. His administration has facilitated the construction of access roads – Raji Abayomi, Mafoluku and over 27 others – , drainage systems, and public facilities. The scale and intentionality of his vision reportedly surpass those of his predecessors.

Supporters of a second term for the council chairman also highlight his efforts in youth empowerment and employment creation. He has reportedly empowered and trained many through vocational programs, including free summer tech training. Kendo has also provided startup grants and entrepreneurial opportunities to people across party lines, boosting commerce and helping to reduce crime in the area.
Kendo’s administration is also credited with improving healthcare services. Vulnerable residents have benefited from free healthcare programs, and healthcare centers have been renovated with adequate medical supplies provided.
Known for his inclusive approach to governance, Kendo engages directly with the community through town hall meetings and forums where he receives feedback that informs his projects. His impact on education has also been significant, from rehabilitating public schools to providing free transportation for students, distributing educational materials to needy students, and offering scholarships to the underprivileged.
As the son of a market leader in Oshodi, Kendo is well aware of the importance of safety. He has tackled security issues head-on by enhancing community policing, installing streetlights in dark areas, and contracting vigilante groups. These initiatives have significantly reduced crime and made the local government area safer.
Kendo’s efforts to alleviate the cost of living have also resonated with the people. His administration consistently provides free food packs throughout the council area, and he has subsidized transportation costs for council workers.

“People from all walks of life have benefited directly and indirectly from what Kendo’s administration has accomplished and continues to do. That’s why the call for a second term for him is growing louder across the council, it is about continuity” say supporters of his administration.
The next local government election in Lagos state is expected to take place in 2025.
