What President Tinubu Discussed With EFCC Chairman Bawa At First Meeting

Emerging details have revealed what the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, AbdulRasheed Bawa discussed with President Bola Tinubu at their first meeting on Wednesday, May 31.

The meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja “afforded the anti-graft czar the opportunity to brief the president on the state of the fight against corruption” according to information released by the agency.

Discussions also touched on Bawa’s visit to Saudi Arabia “where he signed a memorandum of understanding, MoU, with the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (NAZAHA) of Saudi Arabia, in a bid to strengthen international partnerships to address the complex challenges posed by corruption.” the EFCC added in a communication released today, June 1, 2023.

The EFCC was, however, silent on whether there was a discussion on the recent face-off with a sister agency, DSS over ownership of its office in Ikoyi Lagos.
