Emerging details have revealed why billionaire Kessington Adebutu snubbed the offer by Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamide Adeyemi to become the Aare Ona Kakanfor of Yoruba.
Adebutu who is the chief promoter of Premier Lotto more popularly known by the street name Baba Ijebu did not write to reject or accept the Aare Ona Kakanfo chieftaincy when the Alaafin made the offer through an official letter.
Gani Adams, the power behind regional group Oodua People’s Conference eventually emerged the Aare Ona Kakanfo.
Billionaire Adebutu, however, accepted the offer to become the Odole Oodua from Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Insiders claim that Adebutu stayed away from the Aare Ona Kakanfo chieftaincy title because of the ”deep traditional rites and myth” associated with it.
