Under Investigation Ambode, Personal Assistant Ariyo Stay Put Abroad As Corruption Allegation Rages

Details available to societynow.ng revealed that under investigation former governor of Lagos state Akinwunmi Ambode and his person assistant Bunmi Ariyo are abroad.

And there is no indication that the duo would return to the country anytime soon as allegations of corruption continue to rage against them back home.

Ambode traveled out immediately he exited office as Governor of Lagos state.

The former governor who is believed to be holed up in London did not wait for his successor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to be sworn in before leaving the country.

Ambode’s persona assistant, Ariyo who acted as the de facto Chief of Staff during the former governor’s one term tenure traveled out of the country in the guise of going for Holy Pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The yearly pilgrimage has since been conducted but Ariyo failed to return home.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission yesterday – Tuesday, August 20, 2019 – stormed the homes of Ambode and Ariyo as part of investigation into alleged N9billion fraud.

The homes of the two suspects in Epe, Lagos state were searched by EFCC operatives though the operation ran into a bit of hitch at Ambode’s home when his supporters assaulted the investigators on their way out.
